GRAND HYATT BOGOTÁ

The Grand Hyatt Bogota is the biggest hotel in Colombia and after it’s opening it became a symbol of the country’s economic and touristic growth and an icon of proud for the city.

The interior design of the hotel wanted to highlight the Colombian culture in a luxurious way, using bright colors in the right places and, textures and fabrics coming from the roots of the Colombian crafts. The lighting wanted to highlight these natal elements as well. Uplights and cove lighting was used for colorful walls, frontal and indirect lighting for textures, and some decorative fixtures, like the ones in the all-day dinning, crafted in rattan, for general lighting.

*The lighting of this project was a collaborative effort between Arc Light Design responsible for the lighting concept, Carmenza Henao responsible for the implementation of the lighting project, and Mara Villegas as the coordinator and key link between Arc Light, Carmenza and the client, Construcciones Planificadas.
